Description

:P

Vrilia apparently likes Dargorad, but he's not too happy with her display of affection.
Yes, the Thornhounds are *that* big. Check the upper right corner: [link]

Made with Blender v2.49b.
Uses my old background objects, they're over 1 year old. :)

Yay, two furred creatures in just one pic.:D My PC didn't have very good time with the 2 milions of strands.:XD:

There seems to be a hidden bug in Blender: rendering large amounts of complicated particles can cause the program to crash, even if the amount of physical RAM isn't exceeded. The crashes seem to happen randomly when rendering more than one picture during one Blender session. After such crash and simply restarting Blender, the first rendering attempt is almost always OK. But what's the difference anyway, with Blender v2.5 just around the corner...

I'd be grateful if someone could tell me if the picture isn't too dark. I can never tell for sure on my screen.

Haha... Now this is great.

If you take critique again... ;P Approximate AO would be nice. It's fast, smooth and works well with fur using strand primitive. You could also exaggerate the pose by bending the chair backwards some (So that's on 2 legs) and the thornhound could bend forward more. That would give the scene a bit more weight and makes it more comedic.

But that aside. I'd say this is your best one yet. :D Great expressions and nice scene.

Hmm... I remember some problems with 2.49b... 2.5 has it's own problems too but so far fur haven't crashed it. I have made a few turntables with fur and so far zero crashes. Also I did some comparison between the quality. 2.5 renders smoother fur, as in the pixel level. Speed is about the same. I just hope for better memory management with the hair renders.
